A visit to Darlington.

Today we made a visit to Darlington , a nice market town in the Yorkshire countryside. With street names like Skinnergate , and famous persons like Mr Pease , industrialist and founder of railways , you might expect a long trail of history , leading back into times long forgotten ; but a series of remarkable buildings are still  present today. The Darlington railway station is a listed Victorian building and lies on the East Coast Main Line. The historic North Road railway station and associated Darlington Railway Centre and Museum. The thriving indoor market located underneath the town clock on Prebend Row is worth a visit.
To get back from Darlington to our lodgings in the farm in Arrathorn we had to spend almost 5 £ per person , public transport doesn’t come cheap in the U.K.
